Origin and insertion of a muscle.

Description
Every muscle has at least one point of origin on a stationary or nearly stationary bone and an insertion on a bone that moves when the muscle contracts. The biceps brachii muscle has two heads whose origins are on different parts of the scapula. The tendon of this muscle crosses the elbow joint and ends at its insertion on the radius. When the biceps brachii muscle contracts, the radius is pulled toward the upper arm and the arm flexes.
