Toxic fruiting body of Amanita muscaria.

Description
Common in conifer forests, A. muscaria is both toxic and hallucinogenic. People in ancient times used this fungus to induce spiritual visions and to reduce fear during raids. This fungus produces a toxin, amanitin, that specifically inhibits RNA polymerase II of eukaryotes (but not prokaryotes).
