Description
Animals can be categorized based on (a) the absence of different tissue types (Parazoa; the sponges) or (b,c) the presence of tissues (Eumetazoa; all other animals). Further categorization is based on the presence of (b) radial symmetry (Radiata; the cnidarians and ctenophores) or (c) bilateral symmetry (Bilateria; all other animals).
