In cell regulation of protein activity, cells can be regulated by two different types of switches.

is the Kinase-phosphatase switch specific to ADP-phosphorylation/ ATP-dephosphorylation  and the  GTPase switch specific to GDP-phosphorylation/ GTP-dephosphorylation

Is one switch specifically intracellular or extracellular?

In my textbook, it defines
GPCR (G-protein coupled receptors) are integral membrane receptor protein coupled to an intracellular G protein."

Does that mean that the initiation and termination of the GTPase switch is usually localized to direct intracellular cues?

and is a GCPR usually acting as GEF (guanine nucleotide exchange factor) to activate the G∂s

and is GCPR∂s subunit acting as a GAP (GTPase accelerator protein ) to activate the G∂i

(exception being the GßƔ for activating ion channels)
