Injection of double-stranded RNA can lead to gene silencing by degradation of RNA molecules complementary to either strand of the dsRNA.

1) Could RNAi be used in gene therapy for a defect caused by a recessive allele?
   -yes/no

2) A dominant allele?
   -yes/no

3) What might be the major obstacle to using RNAi as a therapeutic agent?
   a) the short life-time of the RNA molecule under in vivo conditions.
   b) the inability to accurately deliver the double-stranded RNA molecule to all of the correct cells and no other cell type.
   c) the unpredictable adverse effects of RNA interference on correct gene expression during the development of embryo.
   d) the inability to accurately knockout the desired gene and not to affect neighbor genes.
