Activity 2:
1. Describe the components in the blood that effect viscosity.

2. Explain the effect that the viscosity change had on flow rate.

3. Describe the graph of flow versus viscosity.

4. Discuss the effect that polycythemia  would have on viscosity and on blood flow.

As viscosity increases, the blood flow decreases. Viscosity and blood flow are inversely proportional to each other. When viscosity increases, the blood is thicker and there is a greater resistance to flow. This results in a decrease in the flow rate. Increasing the number of blood cells would increase the viscosity. This would result in a decrease in the
flow rate due to the increased viscosity.

4. Discuss the effect that polycythemia  would have on viscosity and on blood flow.

Polycythemia is an increase in the red blood cell numbers. This would result in an increase in viscosity and a corresponding decrease in blood flow.
