why are action potentials generated in response to a long stimulus that is above threshold?

why does frequency of action potentials increase when the stimulus intensity increases?

how does the threshold change during the relative refractory period?

what is the relationship of the interspike interval and the frequency of action potentials?

why are action potentials generated in response to a long stimulus that is above threshold?

The longer stimuli allow time for recovery and the above threshold allows the action potential to occur after the relative refractory period.
