What's consider a phenotype of the Drosophila melanogaster fly?

we crossed them with red and white eyes....so ended up with white some red eyes.

So, would a phenotype of the fly be red eyed male and red eyed female, white eyed male, etc?

or would it be red eyed, white eyed. and gender is not involved?

Please help.

Yes, those are physical traits of the fly (phenotype).
