Might sound stupid, put maybe it was dropped lol Or, it contains some kind of gas..., but I don't think any sort of gas pressure could inflate a tin can.

Years back there we many incidences of botulism. Inflated can didn't necessarily mean botulism but it was a red flag. Bacteria is often found in inflated cans
