Narrow-spectrum drugs are targeted to specific groupings, for example vancomycin, which targets gram-positive bacteria such as Bacillus, Clostridium, and Staphylococcus. Broad-spectrum drugs such as tetracycline are used to inhibit all bacterial cells.
