Consider two different sodium ion channels that are both in the same cell’s PM. One of the channels (A) allows 20,000 Na+ ions/second to enter the cell, while the other one (B) allows only 2,000 Na+ ions/sec to enter. How are these two Na+ channels likely to be different from each another?

The one that is allowing more sodium ions into the cell is likely using active transport (being power by ATP), whereas the one allowing less sodium is likely dependent on the sodium concentration gradient differences, thus it is using facilitated transport (no energy is required for facilitated diffusion).
