Based on what you know about the difference in processing of carbohydrates versus fats/proteins, and
the effects on the GI tract, provide a hypothesis for why a breakfast of bacon and eggs lets you feel full
longer than a breakfast of pancakes.

Why would an ingested drug that travels through the digestive tract need to be given in a higher dose
than a similar drug that is given through a skin patch? [Hint: Think about the processing of both of these
drugs in the body].

A common class of drugs for treating heartburn is the H2 inhibitors, which inhibit the release of
histamine. Why would this type of drug help with heartburn?

Consider the following statement: Proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids must all be enzymatically degraded
to their monomers before entering the capillaries of the hepatic portal system. Explain which parts of
this statement are false and why.

Charlie has a blood test that shows a normal level of LDLs but an elevated level of HDLs in his blood.
Since his family has a history of cardiovascular disease, he wonders if he should modify his lifestyle. What
would you tell him and why? Is Charlie at increased risk for forming atherosclerotic plaques?

Please help with these questions I just want to check if I have the right answers before I hand it in
Thanks
