• As we know that evolution is descent of modification. Ancestor gives their genetic makeup to descendants with some variation which through a long period causes phenotypic change and marks evolution. But can adaptation cause evolution ?

We know that adaptaion do not changes genome and hence adapted features during lifetime cannot be given to progeny. It means that their is no modification given by an animal to its descendants through adaption then how the adaptaion can cause evolution.
Please give your views and explaination about your opinion and rectify me if I'm wrong somewhere.

Adapting to the environment suggests natural selection, doesn't it? By adapting, it means that nature has selected individuals best at coping with the environments conditions. In other words, nature pushes for a certain trait, traits that allow the organize to survive, while other traits are slowly removed.
