The micropipette is made using a regular pipette and a bunson burner. You heat the middle of the pipette directly over the flame and twirl it until it is sufficiently heated and then extend it so that you end up with a much smaller, elongated, hollow tube. This tube is then cut to size and is used to move small amounts of substrate.
