This man is claiming that on 3 occasions parts of his skin suddenly exceed the temperature required for flesh to ignite, which is about 1,400 degrees - via the action of his own skin cell metabolism, that a doctor diagnosed him with ''partial spontaneous combustion'', and that he requires $30,000 to fund treatment, testing, and a cure for his claimed condition.

He also claims to be a Vietnam war veteran. His case was advertised by the Huffingtonpost, The Independent (two UK newspapers) in light of a documentary on the Science Channel which was dedicated to him.

One of the GoFundMe links was taken down, and he has subsequently founded another one. He has remained active for over a year - since the documentary first aired.

In short, he is claiming:

*That it is possible for cells to exceed 1,400 degrees by the action of their own metabolism
*That a qualified doctor diagnosed him with ''partial spontaneous combustion'' - a diagnosis I cannot seem to find in any of the medical literature I own.
*That somehow only his skin cells suffer from this.
*That he is being studied in numerous hospitals.
