1. Eliminate any fractions by multiplying both sides by a common denominator.

2. Remove any parentheses by performing the indicated multiplication.

3. Get all terms containing x on one side of the equal sign, and all other terms on the other side by adding like quantities to both sides.

4. Combine like terms on the same side of the equation at any stage of the solution.

5. Remove any coefficient of x by dividing both sides by that coefficient.

Graphical method- in this method we find a few pairs of new solutions to each of the given equations. The pairs of solutions are plotted on a graph paper and by joining them two separate straight lines are obtained. The co ordinayes of the point of intersection of these straight line is the required solution

Elimination method; in this method we add or subtract the given equations to eliminate one of the two variables by making their coefficient equal. then, a single equation with one variable is obtained and is solved to find the value of the variable. the value of the variable is substituted in any one of the earlier equarions to find the value of eliminated variable.
