Martin's grandfather came to the United States from Germany over fifty years ago when he was in his early twenties.  Martin's grandfather speaks conversational English very well, but it is possible to hear some traces of a German accent in his speech, especially with some of the vowel sounds that he produces.  This is a good example of:
