Pepsin is an enzyme. The enzyme releases  pepsinogen by way of the stomachs chief cells. And pepsinogen is what breaks down food proteins into peptides, which are polymers of amino acid monomers.

You figure out the answer from that. I can only define it for you, not give you the answer. Giving you the answer is cheating.
