An isolated muscle and its motor nerve are placed in a Calcium free medium;
is the muscle going to contract if the nerve is stimulated?
will it contract if the muscle is directly stimulated?

I believe calcium is required for the interaction of actin and myosin. Calcium therefore is a major player in muscle contraction of these regulatory proteins.
