Do succulents still close their stomata during day time in office environment?

I found some pots with succulents wilted though I don't know how long they haven't been waterd.
But in natural habitats, they would get much less water than in the office.

I wonder if they still close the stomata under the light even when they are in way more optimal conditions like in office environment. Well, technically not too optimal since they are not likely to get enough light in the office but still they don't necessarily close the stomata.
If they can control it, I assume office evironments have them lose more water.

Does anyone know clearly about this?
