Portfolios are a great way to demonstrate the competencies you would list on a resume or talk about in an interview — they allow you to show and not just tell. During a job search, the portfolio showcases your work to potential employers. It presents evidence of your relevant skills and abilities.

The value of observation and portfolios in early childhood classrooms was to help children with whatever they needed while learning. This will all happen through the observation cycle, which evaluated children in the classroom, documenting, examining evidence, organizing instruction, implementing, and lastly evaluating results. This would happen and student’s in the classroom would gain better results on everything they do after this process is completed. For example, “Early childhood teaching and learning as a complex relational, intersubjective, material, moral and political practice. It adopts a critical lens and begins from the premise that early childhood.
