Hey guys,

I got my finals in a few days and was wondering if anybody could give me the link to the answers to the review questions in this book? I finished all the questions but I'm not entirely sure how to check them as there is no answer section and the wwnorton.com/studyspace doesn't have anything either. Thanks

genotype frequency of locus A in 2 populations of blue jays

Pop 1

A1A1 -  0.09                A1A2  -  0.42               A2A2  -  0.49

Pop 2

A1A1 - 0.64                A1A2  -  0.32               A2A2 -  0.04

Q1
Are any of the two populations in Hardy Weinberg equilibrium. explain

Q2
If she combined the genotypes as such

A1A1 - 0.365              A1A2 -  0.37                 A2A2 - 0.265

 they are not in HW equilibrium. Which HW rules is she violating?


For Q1 I answered neither are in HWE as one of the alleles seem to be fixating in both cases-
For Q2 I have no idea but I'm guessing its the random mating rule?
