It is the sole reason for photosynthesis. It absorbs red and blue light, and starts the photosynthetic process.

the chloroplast in plant cells makes energy for the cell and is very important. Without it the cell would not be able to function. I hope this helps

Chloroplasts are a cell organelle located in a plant cell.
The chloroplast absorbs the energy from the sun and converts it into usable energy/food for the plant that can be used or stored for later.
