Do a study of your region.  What aspects of urban sprawl and urban blight are evident?  What environmental and social problems are evident?  Now interview an older person (about 75 of age or older) about what the community was like before the 1950s in terms of meetings people's needs for shopping, participating in recreation, getting to school or work and so on (was it necessary to have a car?).  How does that compare to the community you see today?

 (approximately 50-75 word count) and supported by at least one reference
