Andrea has been taking antibiotics for bronchitis.  After a few days, she began to have some bothersome symptoms.  She has white coating on her tongue that she could not remove when she brushed her tongue and used Listerine.  She also had white cottage-cheese vaginal discharge and itching.
(a) What do to think was the cause of her white tongue and vaginal discharge?
(b) What do antibiotics have to do with the above symptoms?
(c) How can she avoid a repeat of this situation?

The cause of the of the symptoms is a yeast infection due to the antibiotics.. She can avoid this in the future by also getting a Rx for a yeast infection as well when she is prescribed antio=biotics..
