Microbiology of water

Microbiology is the study of micro-organisms.
Micro means small and biology, the study of living organisms. Therefore microbiology is the study of small living organisms, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses. These organisms tend to only be visible under a microscope. Microbes give us bread, wine, cheese , coffee, tea, chocolate, & many other foods in the forms that we enjoy Studying microbes has given us insights into the structure of genes, how they are regulated, and how many other basic biological processes function. There are bacteria in all water except that which has been recently clean.The species found will depend on the water.  Saltwater, freshwater, tap water, groundwater, even water in rocks has been found to have bacteria.Microbes give us oxygen to breathe, they fix nitrogen into forms that we and other organisms can use, they play a crucial role in human, animal, and plant health and disease.
