I know the basics of writing ionic and net ionic equations, but I'm confused on this one, mainly because it's a single replacement reaction involving an acid. I'm not sure how to handle the hydrogen part of the acid. Do I write it as H2 the whole time, or make it 2H?

you wouldn't write it as H2 the whole time, because the only time its accepted the -2 charge of so4 is when its bonded with it.

is the magneisum aqueous? or solid? you must include it. I'm assuming aqueous, so the rxn would be:

Mg+2(aq) + H2SO4 (aq) Rightwards Arrow 2H+ (aq) + MgSO4 (aq)
You'd make it 2H because there are 2 hydrogen atoms on the otherside, and you must keep the equation balanced. You could write an ionic and net ionic eq'n for this but theres really no point since everything would cancel itself out. good luck.
