Stratified sampling, the population is divided into strata according to some variables that are thought to be related to the variables that we are interested in. Then a sample is taken from every stratum.
Cluster sampling wants you to create groups so that the units within each group have a big spread, and the groups themselves are similar to each other. It is designed to save resources by making the actual data collection easier. For example-families in bigger apartments, single people in studios etc.
