Your partner has just inserted a nasogastric tube to relieve distention in your pediatric cardiac arrest patient. To confirm proper NG tube placement you would:
A) Inject sterile saline into the tube and listen for gurgling over the epigastrium.
B) Check for condensation inside the NG tube.
C) Auscultate for bilateral lung sounds and the absence of epigastric sounds.
D) Inject air through the NG tube and listen for gurgling over the epigastrium.
