The molecules diffuse following a concentration gradient until the system achieves a state of equilibrium, where the molecules are evenly distributed.

the molecules never stop moving
but they get even and stay even

The molecules are constantly moving and they have to keep constantly moving to maintain the state of equilibrium.

That's why if you ever see an equilibrium equation it's written like this:

A + B Leftwards Arrow----->  A + B

Where the arrow has points at BOTH ends, meaning it continues to go back and forth at a constant rate while maintaining equilibrium.

Remember, molecules NEVER stop moving.
