I really need to know this for my biology experiment, because when the density changes I would be able to use a spectrophotometer to detect approximately how many monosaccharides are present.

The optical density is defined as the measure of extent to which a object transmits the light or any electromagnetic radiation.

I'd assume that the effect would be as profound, that the difference would be negligible. Of course, this is just an assumption. I've never done this lab before
