Those (mutation, cross-over and independent assortment) aren't heritable traits, but rather the mechanisms by which DNA is shuffled in transmission from one generation to the next.  Your question sounds more like it is asking for categories of features that characterize a population.

1.  Readily observable phenotype:  external appearance
2.  Local environment:  where it lives
3.  Behavior: how it acts (e.g. courtship behaviors, bird song dialects)
