I have to do an essay describing the difference and similarities between them. I am lost in biology so, i need a little bit of help. Can anyone give me four characteristics of cellular respiration and four characteristics of photosynthesis.

Cellular respiration and photosynthesis are almost the opposite of each other. Photosynthesis harvests light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into sugar molecules, while respiration breaks down sugar to create energy in the form of ATP. Photosynthesis occurs in chloroplasts, while cellular respiration occurs in mitochondria. They are both similar in that they both generate ATP via an electron transport chain.
