1 -- When NSAIDs are not effective, slow-acting anti-inflammatory medications such as gold salt may be prescribed. Plasmapheresis might be needed later in the patient’s treatment. Methotrexate (Rheumatrex) and infliximab (Remicade) may also be prescribed later in the patient’s treatment.
