Why is binary fission classified as asexual reproduction?

I think that it is because they are between cells and cells are always asexual. 

How do cells divide in half during binary fission?

All I can find is that the plasma membrane grows inward and starts to form a cell wall.  Is that right?

Because the genetically identical offspring inherits their DNA from a single parent.
