1. WHat additional skeletal muscles are utilized in an ERV activity? (I believe the answer is the following  this but not sure if i am correct)
--external intercostal muscles (located between the ribs) and the diaphragm (a sheet of muscle located between the thoracic & abdominal cavities).

2. Explain why results from the experiment suggest that there is an obstructive, rather than a restrictive, lung problem?

2. Explain why results from the experiment suggest that there is an obstructive, rather than a restrictive, lung problem?

The FEV1 (%) decreased proportionally as the radius decreased which is characteristic of an obstructive pulmonary problem.

What additional skeletal muscles are utilized in an ERV activity?

In forced expiration, abdominal-wall muscles and the internal intercostal muscles contract.

Hope this helps Slight Smile
