What is the effect of lidocaine on the generation of AP? Explain why.

1) Can hyperpolarized graded potential lead to an AP in the axon terminal? Explain why.

2) Did a stimulus stronger than threshold cause an AP of higher amplitude?
Answer:
Activity 4
3) What is the effect of lidocaine on the generation of AP? Explain why.
Answer: Blocks voltage- gated Na+ channels. Hard to reach, reduces further potential.( I'm not 100 percent sure of this answer)

4) Stimulus voltage of 30 mV generated an AP frequency of Hz; stimulus voltage of 45 mV generated an AP frequency of Hz.
Answer: 0.161 and
Activity 7
5) Which of the three nerves had the fastest conduction velocity? Explain why.
Answer: A fiber ; thick, heavy myelinated , larger diameter and propagate faster.
