A ramus is a branch of a spinal nerve into a dorsal and a ventral portion. Each ramus contains both sensory and motor neurons. A nerve plexus is formed from the ventral rami of spinal nerves. A plexus is a network of nerves that serves both sensory and motor needs for the limbs.
