Alicia Garcia English Composition I Annotated Bibliography September 9, 2018   Annotated Bibliography American Psychiatric Association: DSM-5 Arington, VA. New York. American Psychiatric Publishing, 2013. The DSM-5 book is an updated guide to new treatment recommendations as well as payment options by health. It was created by professional medical doctors who obtained their information through experiments that pertain to mental disorders such as PTSD, schizophrenia, explosive mood disorder, etc. Due to the purpose of the book it will not provide helpful information to the learner and will not be included in this essay. The learner could presume that the reference would be best suited for a psychologist or any professional in the mental health field rather than a high school student.   Klein, Donald. “Importance of Psychiatric Diagnosis in Prediction of clinical Drug Effects.” 16 (2003): 76. Glen Oaks Jama psychiatry 14 September, 2015 In this article the author explains how psychiatric drugs and diagnosis can have negative effects on the patient examined unless the treatment is performed properly. The author even goes as far as to explain some of his own certified techniques and why other techniques will be ineffective or harmful. The learner could presume that the reference will be a reliable source to a subtopic and inform the learner about different unknown facts. However, due to the complex sources and examples within the article it would be most helpful to a student working at a college level. Rahmattullah, Khan. “Why do we need more clinical psychologist” PubMed Central.15 April, 2008. 21 September, 2015. The following online source above has provided information relating to the variety of psychologist and the roles in which they perform.  For example, the author describes a clinical psychologist and how their job is geared toward the science behind mental disorders. The author then goes into detail of how this differs from a therapeutic psychologist who focuses on the emotions and mental state of the patient. The learner has found that the following source is highly informative and uncovers the diversity of psychology. Therefore, the learner has determined that the source will be most helpful to a student ranging from a junior high level to college preparatory.
