Differences in oxygen-hemoglobin dissociation curves under different physiological conditions and am

Description
(a) Increasing or decreasing the amounts of carbon dioxide or hydrogen ions (acid), or the temperature of the blood, shift the oxygen-hemoglobin dissociation curve. Actively metabolic tissues generate these products. By shifting the curve, different tissues obtain oxygen from hemoglobin in proportion to their metabolic needs. (b) Oxygen-hemoglobin dissociation curves for three mammals with low (elephant), moderate (human), or high (mouse) relative metabolic rates.
