The structure of yeast Mediator in complex with RNA polymerase II

Description

The structure of Mediator (dark blue) was determined by image processing of cryoelectron micrographs, and that of RNA polymerase Il (light blue) from its crystal structure.

The red dot marks the location where the C-terminal domain of the largest pol II subunit (the one that undergoes phosphorylation) emerges from the surface of the enzyme.
