Tactile communication among honeybees regarding food sources.

Description
(a) Bees gather around a newly returned scout to receive information about nearby food sources. (b) If the food is less than 50 m away, the scout performs a round dance. (c) If the food is more than 50 m away, the scout performs a waggle dance, which conveys information about its location. If the dance is performed at a 30º angle to the right of the hive's vertical plane, then the food source is located at a 30º angle to the right of the sun.
