Menstrual cycle.

Description
Activities in the ovary are related to those in the uterus during the menstrual cycle. Hormones (estradiol and progesterone) produced by the follicle and then by the corpus luteum cause the endometrium to proliferate. If the ovum is not fertilized, the declining levels of the hormones cause the endometrium to slough off in menstruation.
