Tags
Description
(a) SEM of a human sperm cell. (b) Drawing of the axoneme. The core structure consists of a 9 + 2 arrangement of nine outer doublet microtubules and two central microtubules. This structure is anchored to the basal body, which has nine triplet microtubules, in which three microtubules are fused together. Note: The structure of the basal body is very similar to centrioles in animal cells.
