Description
A latex agglutination reaction. This is an analysis for rheumatoid factor. Immunoglobulin is bound to the latex particles with the Fc facing out. For this disease, the Fc of immunoglobulin is the antigen that the patient makes antibody to. The patient's IgM to the Fc of IgG binds the particles together. A weak positive is seen in well 1, a negative control in well 2, and strong positives in wells 3 and 4.
