Description
Flow cytometry data that shows the differences in CD3+ CD4+ cells that occur with HIV infection. CD3+ cells are selected because this selects the T-cell population. CD3+ CD4+ cells decrease from 51.6% in the healthy individual (second panel top) to 12.2% in this patient with HIV (second panel bottom). This change is accompanied by an increase in the percentage of gated cells that are CD3+ and CD8+ from 21.5% in the healthy individual (third panel upper) to 49.5% (third panel lower).
