Description
Clear the lower leg with long strokes. Start proximal to the ankle, and stroke to the knee and release. Because the area of the gastrocnemius and the soleus drain to the popliteal space, it is necessary to also cover the posterior leg from the ankle to the popliteal space. Bend the recipient’s knee to allow access to the posterior leg; lower it back to the table when finished. Cover each area with 10 to 15 strokes.
