Proposed structure for keratin-type intermediate filaments

Description
Two monomers (a) pair via a parallel coiledcoil to form the 50-nm-long dimer (b).

These then associate to form first a 4-strand protofilament (c) and
then an 8-strand protofibril (d).

The regular spacing of 25 nm along the fibers is accounted for by the overlap.
