Have you ever experienced a kidney stone before?

Description
Have you ever experienced a kidney stone before? What is actually causing the pain in your body?

A kidney stone, or nephrolithiasis, is a hard mineral deposit that forms in the urine. Kidney stones can become painful when traveling through the urinary tract but do not usually cause lasting damage.
Kidney stones are very common and have several genetic and environmental causes, the most common of which is dehydration.

Kidney stones often become lodged in the renal pelvis, in the ureter where it crosses over the iliac artery, or at the point where the ureter opens into the bladder.

Usually, treatment includes pain relievers and drinking plenty of water to help pass the stone out of the urinary tract. Sometimes, medical procedures are needed to break up larger stones so they can pass out of the body.
