The frequency of aneuploidy changes dramatically over developmental time. Between 6 to 8 weeks and 20 weeks, about 35% of spontaneous abortions are aneuploid. Around 20 weeks, the frequency falls by an order of magnitude to about 4% stillbirths. The frequency decreases again by an order of magnitude, with about 0.3% of newborns being aneuploid.
